The new Quest Diagnostics East Region Development represents a cultural shift for the company, breaking down the traditional silos between disciplines, and building spaces for communication and collaboration. The project brings together clinical, laboratory, and administrative offices, previously housed in four different locations in the region, to create a vibrant and inviting central campus.
The two story building consists of large ground level laboratory, laboratory support spaces, second floor offices, and amenity spaces arranged as a linear bar along the north side of the building. This linear arrangement maximizes access to natural light for the offices and the amenities space on the second level. The new building serves as a flagship operation for Quest, showcasing Quest Diagnostics brand, industry leadership, and innovation. Visitor groups are invited to view the state of the art lab spaces via a second story mezzanine, providing an intimate view of operations without disrupting lab floor productivity.
Bio Mark Cavagnero Associates is a San Francisco-based architecture firm built on a foundation of serving civic, cultural and institutional clients. We approach each project with a focus on the immediate and greater community it will serve. Mark Cavagnero was personally honored with the AIA California Council’s 2015 Maybeck Award, a lifetime achievement award often referred to as the “Gold Medal of California.” In every project we design we strive for logic, strength, functional excellence, clarity, sustainability, economical use of materials, and, of course, beauty.
