YiBrick contains over 90% recycled ceramic, locally invented and made in China, where 18 million tons of non-degradable ceramic waste are produced every year. It is a permeable brick that can be used as pavement for sponge cities, improves the ecological environment and biodiversity, alleviating waterlogging problems, water resources shortage, and urban heat island effect.
The design is to solve the problem of ceramic waste management and research the possibilities of creating 100% recycled ceramic materials, to produce in large scale quantity to take care of all the wastes, and to promote the idea of regenerating recycled ceramics.
