Located at the foot of Chongqing Gele Mountain and within the ancient town of Magnetkou, Chongqing-1949 Grand Theatre is the first large-scale live-action theater in Chongqing tailored for the play Chongqing-1949 and the largest single indoor theme theater in the world. The theater has a total construction area of 25,000 square meters, a building height of 28.6 meters, and a capacity of 1,500 spectators.
Chongqing-1949 Grand Theatre incorporates the local characteristics of Chongqing into its design. Starting from the entrance of the first floor, the decoration plan is based on the theme of "the old people of the mountains and rivers, building shadows to leave traces", and design elements are extracted from the city of mountains and rivers, such as the hanging foot tower, old brick walls, staircases and so on, which are reinterpreted by using modern art design techniques to make it new and show the characteristic mountain city culture.
