This theater is the extension of the Music Faculty of the University of Montreal. It sees itself as a gateway to Mount Royal and a transition between the city and the mountain. Highly respectful of its environment, this project seeks to connect the density of the mountain’s interior to its surface through the experience of the performance hall and its foyer. This, by establishing a formal, spatial and functional dialogue with the Music Faculty. It is around these dualities that the project draws its richness and through a contrasted and sensitive intervention to the siting environment.
