ITC Shanghai is set to be one of the most significant urban connectors in the well-known Xujiahui district once it is completed in 2024.

Currently one of the largest sites under development in Shanghai’s city centre, the mega integrated scheme combines four plots of land and totals 700,000 sqm of development. The project will include grade-A offices, a premium retail mall and a luxury hotel, all with direct access to the Xujiahui metro station where three lines converge.

Integrating the large-scale destination into the existing urban fabric of the busy district is a series of elevated footbridges. A project in its own right, the network of footbridges connects the development to major commercial buildings and heritage sites nearby.
The design uses a multiple-ground-floor strategy across the connective podiums, featuring elevated streets, generous terraces, indoor and outdoor pedestrian bridges, civic plazas and innovative strategies to interface with the significant Xujiahui multi-line metro station.

ITC Shanghai brings to life the ‘City within a City’ concept as it seeks to revolutionise neighbourhood-scale development in Shanghai.
