This apartment on Fisher Island creates a minimalistic counterpoint to the architecture, which is built in Moorish style. Using continuous materials on floors and walls, the apartment was designed as a unit, divided into individual functional areas with smooth transitions. Long visual axes are created throughout the entire level, giving the apartment a particularly spacious feel and revealing the sea view. Opening the steel doors and also the sliding door in the front area, one recognizes the idea of not planning an ordinary interior design, but creating individual boxes that leave room for views and art. Each box has its own function – but together they work as a whole and zonate the apartment without taking up the space. The materiality of the architectural furniture is so restrained and minimalistic that the owners' artwork on the serene oak paneling stands out particularly well. Open-pored travertine floors harmonize with details like handcrafted doors and furniture handles.
