Miyagawa-cho, the flower district of Kyoto, still embodies the subtlety and aesthetic consciousness advocated by the writer Junichiro Tanizaki in his essay 'In Praise of Shadows' Here, we blend traditional Japanese materials, techniques, and aesthetic sensibilities with modern design and technology to offer a comfortable and novel accommodation experience while retaining the ambiance of the past. Upon arrival, guests are greeted by a 2700-height fixture adorned with traditional artisanal "NAGURI" work, a technique favored by Sen no Rikyu, a renowned tea master. Inside, spacious living/dining areas, complemented by a balcony featuring an open-air bath, provide relaxation opportunities. Wall finishes showcase the work of Hatanowataru, a Kyoto-based artist. Kitchen/bathroom counters adorned with "KAKISHIBU"-coated Japanese paper allow guests to appreciate its changing patina over time. The up floor focuses on enhancing the texture in each room. It is walls utilize "KAKISHIBU" Japanese paper to express silence and dynamism through lighting. In another room, the entire space is enveloped in uniform-colored Japanese paper, with shadows added using paper featuring images of willow leaves.

Bio
Design is created by people. That is why we always work with the hope of filling designs with 'feelings', 'heart' and 'love' for people and moving people's hearts with a space that is filled to the brim.

We aim to provide one-stop proposals from a comprehensive perspective, including the environment, business conditions, operations and visuals in commercial spaces, "connecting various things and things through design".
