An innovative model for affordable workforce housing, Rockwood Village centers around a privately funded public park welcoming the county’s underserved communities. Designed to foster health, education, social activities, and a connection with a district-wide transit network, the Village expands the public realm positioning residential buildings along the perimeter and a civic gathering space at the heart of the complex.
Inspired by the flexibility and vibrancy of historic town squares in dense urban centers globally, Rockwood Village features communal areas and amenities as vital ethnic and multi-generational resources for locals. A whimsical play hub, meandering walking paths, picnic areas in the enchanting forest, and a shared garden enhance the quality of life for all, integrating year-round programming with nearby schools, cultural venues, and community centers.
