The project illuminated the division that time had created in downtown Irbid, reestablishing a visual and physical connection between two previously disconnected areas. Located on Al-Hashemi Street, by revitalizes abandoned heritage buildings and revives Irbid's cultural essence. Through urban and architectural dialogue, we reconnected with the history and memory of the place, fostering community and urban vitality. The project reconnected residents with their cultural and intellectual roots, preserved and reactivated heritage buildings through functional reuse, and enhanced community engagement through workshops, exhibitions, and other activities for both residents and visitors. It also revitalized the historic Sagha Souq, preserving its unique spatial experience with the ancient black Hourani Stone by creating new steel-structured pergolas that now embrace this heritage street, introducing cultural activities that celebrate Irbid's rich heritage. The project included the construction of a new architectural landmark, now serving as a focal point that enriches city life across cultural, social, and commercial domains, compellingly attracting people and directing them toward Al-Tal.
