The project is located on Changxing Island in Shanghai, with native Metasequoia forests and streams, providing excellent ecological conditions. The design is based on the concept of "natural healing", maximizing the preservation of water fir forests and building a small town style medical settlement with shared gardens as the core, creating a healing space where humans and nature coexist. Nature is no longer just the background, but the subject that constitutes the healing power.
The planning layout is divided into outpatient, medical technology, ward, public health services, and medical research. Adopting a one core four wing structure, with four buildings surrounding the garden, the outpatient department and medical technology are efficiently connected, and all wards enjoy natural scenery. The building height is controlled within 24 meters, and the canopy is integrated through the setback. The exterior is made of natural materials and communicates with the cedar forest.
The project attempts to redefine the spatial form of future community healthcare. Architecture becomes a continuation of the environment.
