Inspired by the classic New York City diner, the NoMad Diner located in the Arlo NoMad Hotel artfully blends nostalgia and contemporary design to create an intimate and playful experience. Just off the serene lobby, under a glowing neon entry visible from the street, guests are transported to a mid-century diner woven with lively modern additions. Modern eclecticism was central to the design narrative, weaving together textures, patterns, and colors reminiscent of the surrounding fashion-driven neighborhood while reinventing the classic diner experience for a new generation. From the oak paneling to the use of chrome and leather, every detail was meticulously curated to evoke a sense of whimsy. Retro bar stools are mixed with modern bentwood chairs and leather banquettes. A stone bar top with bold veining and concrete floors introduces industrial contrasts, balanced by the warmth of millwork and reeded wood that wraps around the space. Patterned marmoleum tile flooring evokes the diner experience while chrome light fixtures provide a modern edge. The Arlo Diner beautifully contrasts the refined design of the lobby with a fun and nostalgic design moment, intriguing passersby.
