Shimmer & Swirl wine emporium is inspired by the interplay of light and motion in a swirling glass of wine. The design of the interior of the space embodies the fluidity of wine, soft curves that guide the eye and the body through the space, much like the way wine moves when being swirled in a glass. This design is an experiential journey that reflects the unfolding of wine’s character in the glass. The Wine Emporium consists of a seasonal pairing restaurant, a wine exhibition and shop, a private tasting and pairing room on the ground floor and a wine bar, glassblowing workshop and shop, and private cellar at the mezzanine level. The colour palette, inspired by wine’s rich hues, is accented with metallics and glass further reinforcing the shimmering theme of wine.The target market of the wine Emporium can be split into two groups. The first being local wine coinsures who want a space to enjoy wine while also learning more about the wines within South Africa. Second , is international travelers or business people who are only in Cape Town for a short time.
