This project aspires to craft a community space that transcends the ordinary, rekindling the connection between people and the community.
The entrance, recessed from the street, opens into an expansive resting area, blending private and public environments in harmony. Lush greenery surrounds the entrance, evoking the serenity of forests, subtly veiling the café within.
Drawing from traditional garden design, the space is carefully crafted to offer a dynamic, rich experience within a confined setting. Engineered bamboo veneers dominate the interior, chosen not only for their aesthetic warmth but also for their symbolic resonance in Chinese culture. The authentic textures of bamboo bring warmth and simplicity, while accents of jade and black stone create striking contrasts, adding depth and dimension.
The design embraces a double-height space to add a mezzanine, accessed via a staircase clad in engineered bamboo. Its entryway unfolds with a landscape of raw stones, a flowing water feature, and a canopy of branches overhead, evoking the peaceful imagery of high mountains, murmuring rivers, and quiet valleys.
