The owners love for mid-century homes as well as ties to the region since childhood summers spent swimming in White Lake, brought them to the White Lake Homes in the Catskills. Between 1960 and 1968 Approximately 150 Mid-century modern 2 & 3 bedroom homes were built on the western shores of White Lake in the Sullivan County Catskills in the town of Bethel which is a 5 minutes’ drive to the site of the original Woodstock Festival in 1969.

I-Beam’s aim was to modernize and upgrade the house with new amenities and materials but maintain the spirit of the mid-century architecture by creating a fun, colorful environment to enjoy with family and friends during the summers and all year around.

The three bedroom home was renovated and a screened in porch was enclosed to enlarge the interior living space with a new nook area with a fireplace that was gifted to the couple.

An interior staircase was added to the house to connect the previously unused basement/utilities room to a new renovated ground level as an office/guest room.
