The Strait culture and Art Center is located on the Bank of Minjiang River in Fuzhou City, Fujian Province, with a total construction area of 152600 square meters. It is a cultural complex including multi-functional Theater Hall, opera house, concert hall, art museum, film and television center and central culture hall.
The design inspiration of this project comes from Jasmine. Jasmine is a world-famous Chinese cultural symbol, and it is also the city flower of Fuzhou. This project uses traditional Chinese materials ceramic and bamboo.Ceramics originated in China, and bamboo is the symbol of Chinese spirit and endowment. What is more valuable is that Fujian is one of the places of origin of pottery and bamboo, which saves a lot of costs for the production and transportation of materials.
The facade of the external curtain wall adopts more than 40000 ceramic sticks, and 36000 pieces of ceramic plates. This project has become the largest ceramic curtain wall building in the world.
Interior design materials focus on bamboo and art ceramics. There are 1.5 million "Jasmine twigs"art ceramics on the wall of the opera house and 25000 "peony twigs"art ceramics on the wall of the concert hall.
