This 274-key Premier Inn hotel is located on a disused brownfield site in the heart of Waterloo. The scheme includes a ground-floor restaurant fronting onto a public courtyard and pocket park. The hotel has been built using a combination of lightweight metal sections and more traditional construction techniques to deliver the project efficiently and on time.

The hotel has two separate blocks of accommodation connected via an elegant lightweight glazed bridge link. A public route between the blocks leads through to a verdant pocket park with seating, sculpture, and abundant planting to create calm within the hubbub of city life. Diverse tree species will provide shade, as well as helping to improve local air quality. Native and ornamental plants will foster biodiversity throughout the scheme and a mosaic of wildflower and sedum green roofs will provide a habitat for wildlife.

Our design reinterprets local materials and characteristics into an under-stated, contemporary piece of quality architecture. Three colours, textures and tones of brickwork reflect the local Victorian industrial vernacular and public houses, creating a light, delicate façade.
