The main objective is to create a unique office building with local cultural characteristics. Connaught Marina is a 28-storey boutique mixed-use office building/modern tower newly added to Hong Kong’s world-famous waterfront. We see opportunities in developing compact yet humanized workplace with local art & culture.

The Project started as a feasibility study in which we studied several Schematic studies. The building sits on the junction of 3 streets. The hectic road condition and limited site area had imposed tremendous challenges to the project development process.

The historical background inspired us to pay tributes to local elements. The Streamline form pay homage to Modernist tenement houses that once populated the old Victoria City. Hovering canopy with candescent LED strips echoes with the sweeping centennial tram line and the nostalgic ambience of the old pier, a bond with the city’s present & past.

Building set back at the narrow street to achieve better air ventilation to mitigate heat island effect and enhance urban spatial quality; Greenery provided at multi-levels providing a mid-air breathing and chill-out space for users at Land[E]scape(6F) and To-Gather(18F).
