As a well-established bank in Hong Kong for almost a decade, Heng Seng is always the lead and reliable partner for their customers. Through an inventive approach, the traditional vertical elements are interweaving into a 3-D wave form leading us to the entrance of the Bank. It also represents Heng Seng Bank’s transition and innovation to maintain its leading position. Each integrated part is forming a complex system, similar to Heng Seng Bank, each colleague plays a role in the cooperation and creating a greater effect. There is also no boundary to this façade design, where the growth of Heng Seng Bank is unlimited and remains a sustainable growth.
Functionality in modernist building is found generic and lack of sense of place. This project is to add another layer of branding definition to this façade, and create sense of place at this metropolis area by introducing idea of live/natural elements: wave.
By employing banal material: aluminium fins and panels with floaty architectural motif to create a wavy box. The materiality of these feature walls acts as a porous membrane forming an intimate interplay between urban context and natural environment.
