Echoing the project vision, the design of the sales center uses nature and light to bring a sense of the natural world into the built space. A large three-story atrium creates an entrance statement; light is cast onto a tree-inspired column and visitors are greeted with a welcoming play of shadows on the walls. The lobby area intentionally feels bright and airy, acting as a prelude before visitors are guided further into the darker projection spaces.
The sense of story continues on the other side with a light and spacious open setting where different functions are able to flow freely. The tree-inspired ceiling profile highlights the sand table and bar area; purposefully contradicting with the otherwise soft and rhythmic ceiling design, in order to provide a stimulating dash of energy that resembles nature and growth.
The entire lounge area and restrooms are all lined with windows and translucent glass, displaying the outdoor greenery in various degrees of opacity; gently bringing in the natural element and blurring the boundaries between the inside and outside.
Bio AJAR’s roots lie in HK, and through different medium, we aspire to create new places and forms of contemporary local culture. By challenging the common misconception of “architecture equals real estate”, we hope to reconstruct the human-spatial bonding and bring people closer to the city.
Our design philosophy is born from the intrinsic relationship between space and people and we specialize in sensitive, high quality spatial experiences. We are passionate about architecture in a wider context and believe that any intervention, regardless their size, are opportunities for public engagement.
