The concept behind Diagonal by Pininfarina was designed to support Fortaleza’s urban afforestation and regeneration efforts while prioritizing resident well-being through a connection to nature, wellness-enhancing materials, and a focus on integrated living with the local environment. Designed with the resident's well-being in mind, each apartment unit is filled with natural light and the building incorporates an abundance of luxury wellness amenities. The 47 units are defined by floor-to-ceiling windows and large terraces that offer unobstructed views of the ocean and surrounding community. Diagonal will incorporate a living green façade, tapering upward from the base of the tower to create a rainforest-like oasis at the heart of Fortaleza's urban fabric. Pininfarina custom designed the lobby to be enveloped in glass and serve as a welcoming point from the busy street to a relaxing home. The lobby can also be transformed into a gallery, made to encourage engagement between residents and neighbors. Diagonal by Pininfarina is slated to start construction in September 2023 and is estimated to be completed in September 2028.
