In the heart of the Retiro district in Madrid, the building is located on a corner parcel with urban planning conditions that allow the building to be set back.


Genesis.
The exercise we have proposed has a higher degree of complexity than our previous organicist projects, as we adjusted to a very rational initial fit, which lacks terraces and led us to create a static volume. The solution appeared by optimising the communication spaces, which allowed us to place terraces at the corners of the tower and thus break with the forcefulness of the building.


A three-dimensional grid.
The personality is given to the building by the parametric texture that makes up its façade. I say texture because, unlike other works, it is not a geometry of horizontal or vertical bands, but a three-dimensional mesh that connects all the points of the building's façade. At Pixar there are more draftsmen than 3D animators, in this case, it is the same, even though the latest technology has been used to model the final result, in reality it has all been a struggle to replicate a drawing. That drawing was made on top of some modelling, which aimed to replicate other drawings...
