This project is a focus on how we can improve the community while tackling environmental issues by applying sustainable design considerations to interior architectural design. It is to create a dynamic and sustainable learning environment for intergenerational integration. To develop and inspire forward looking leaders in building and bridging communities.
The design concept is human movement, as I believe that none of us can walk in a strictly straight line; rather, we meander, primarily due to a slight structural or functional imbalance of our limbs, which produces a gait asymmetry. Rather than straight and angular lines, I have decided to use curvilinear lines which adds softness and comfort to a room, as they are more organic and adopt more beautiful nature-inspired shapes. Curves can also create a focal point, bringing visual impact, and giving the illusion of length to a surface that may be angular.
As we are moving towards active learning, students are asked to engage in their learning by thinking, discussing, investigating, creating as well as hands-on activities. Hence, we are always on the move and requires a space where students can move around freely.
