In high class residential area, a large volume residence had to be constructed on a relatively small site.
Next to a giant outdoor pool there was almost no space for a garden. So, the idea was to put the garden onto the roof and work close to the concept of a zero-seal house which means the sealed areas are given back to nature on the rooftop.
The borders of the side are hidden by a whole series of newly planted canopying trees, which provide natural Sun protection.
On ground level an open floor plan flows freely from east to west along the pool. Floor to ceiling sliding windows allowing inside outside living all year.
On the upper floor is the bedroom area with ensuite bathrooms and separate dressing facilities.
The lush planted roof terrace with whirlpool is reserved for the hardworking parents.
A sensual minimalistic atmosphere is carefully detailed with great attention to natural and artificial lighting.
A unique light feature in the entree was handcrafted by world famous Austrian Bartenbach Lichtdesign.
Bio He studied at The Technical University of Munich and the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, worked on international projects for Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP and A + P Smithson, London.
