Just like Marco Polo embarking on an eastward journey along the Silk Road, the homeowner, a man who’s passionate about Eastern culture, comes to Taiwan from Europe and builds a family here. Therefore, this project places great emphasis on the diverse fusion of Eastern and Western cultures, as well as the coexistence of modernity and history, not only utilizing smart technology, but also incorporating the layout of a traditional four-sided courtyard house. The core element of the design is a dining table shaped like the symbol “Infinity” from Western philosophies, representing endless future possibilities. It is also imbued with the concept of family reunion in Chinese traditions, while providing respite and privacy for both adults and children. In terms of aesthetic atmosphere, this design features outlines of sleek modern structures, fused with the vermillion red color, which is symbolic of the East, and a collection of antique furniture, integrating Taiwan’s historical and cultural landscape into the theme of the design. The harmonious fusion of different eras and cultures creates a new renaissance and is the focal point of this design.
