Embu is the 3 Meal Outlet at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Singapore. On Level 3 adjacent to the Guestroom Atrium. The name is taken from the Singapore Tembusu Tree, which carries the Garden City narrative throughout the entire interior experience.

The renovation transformed the space, opening the façade to the atrium, adding an additional 50 seats at the rear of the extended outlet where we connect the interiors with the exterior landscaped gardens, also designed by us.

With 11 culinary stations, (including an outdoor oven), that all nestle under the interior canopies formed from curved louvred timber and back lit barrisol ceilings that have custom printed artwork depicting the leafy patterns from under the Tembusu tree.

We have divided the space into several zones, none of which contain more than 40 seats. The division between the zones has been created from garden scape metal screens with shelving and integral lighting. The shelving has been used in certain areas to evoke a greenhouse residence, and nursery, with libraries and live plants.

To reinforce the local story line we have used white marble table tops, peranakan porcelain floor tiles and open weave rattan furniture.
