This residence showcases a modern style French chateau with a blend of traditional and contemporary elements.
The Owners requirement for the outdoor landscape areas was simplicity, a definite modern minimalist approach awaty from the traditional French manicured anf formal designs, yet creating a landscape that would provide for a site fit with the subtropical locale which will compliment the elegance and grandeur of the residence.
Hardscape design was achieved by placing the pool alongside from the residence to the rear cabana and placing symmetrical palms along side the pool length. The use of palms contributed to introduce the local plant materials yet creating symmetry in the design.
Most of the existing trees alongside the property edges were protected and the privacy buffer enhanced with the addition of a series of native trees and shrubs which allowed for privacy and green yard space which Owner’s desired for children’s play areas.
In conclusion, the landscape architect designed to create a harmonious and visually appealing outdoor space that enhances the residence and respects the surrounding natural environment.
Bio Florida licensed landscape architect Orlando Comas is nearing his fifty years enjoying a career in landscape architecture. He owns the compelling enthusiasm of creating outdoor environments for a select clientele. His dedication has taken him to South, Central America, the Caribbean and South Florida. Everyday he looks forward to his daily synthesis process of combining experience, the natural environment, new materials, and the pleasure of offering his clients fresh new ideas.
