Refugium Lunz opened in 2023, featuring 23 beautifully designed rooms for guests seeking relaxation and adventure. Nestled in Lunz am See beside the Ybbs River, this 16th-century building has been reimagined by owners Joachim Mayr and Heinz Glatzl as a sanctuary where history meets modern design.
The interiors blend natural materials—local wood, stone, and handcrafted textiles—creating a harmonious atmosphere that celebrates both old-world craftsmanship and contemporary aesthetics. Each room is thoughtfully curated, with custom-built furnishings and a careful interplay of textures and colors that evoke elegance and comfort.
As part of FORMDEPOT, a cooperative for craftsmanship and design, Joachim and Heinz collaborated with artisans to bring their vision to life, ensuring every detail reflects a balance of tradition and innovation.
