The revitalization of the Urania Hall transforms a 1970s sports facility into a multifunctional civic space while preserving its iconic silhouette. The design retains the original dome structure, now modernized with new cladding and lighting to emphasize its architectural presence. Inside, updated circulation systems, universal accessibility, and expanded sports and event infrastructure allow for greater programmatic flexibility. Transparent facades introduce daylight and openness, connecting the building to the urban fabric. The project balances memory and innovation—respecting the city’s architectural heritage while delivering a future-ready arena for sports, culture, and education. It becomes both a landmark and a gathering place for the community.
