The SAC store in Diriyah was envisioned as a contemporary gallery space that honors heritage while embracing modern design. At its core, the project reflects the deep connection between craft, artist, and land. The design balances contrast and continuity; offering a refined spatial envelope that quietly withdraws, allowing artisanal products to take center stage.
Sculptural display units, inspired by the angular formations of the desert, are engraved with Najdi patterns, merging contemporary abstraction with cultural memory. Earth-toned walls ground the space in Diriyah’s materiality, while white display surfaces and restrained accent colors create clarity, rhythm, and emphasis.
A focal wall assembles raw fragments of clay, wood, ceramic, leather, and textiles; presented in their unfinished state to highlight the beauty of process, imperfection, and experimentation. This tactile feature blurs the line between exhibition and archive, underscoring craft as an evolving journey.
The result is a retail experience that is both immersive and narrative-driven: a space that celebrates Saudi craftsmanship, invites exploration, and translates tradition into contemporary language.
Bio We are a multidisciplinary design studio with a strong conceptual ability to merge art, design, and science.
