Ned’s Club Washington, DC was inspired by the glamour of the Roaring Twenties and the city’s rich architectural heritage. Housed within two historic buildings—one Art Deco and the other Neoclassical—the design of this new members' club blends preserved architectural elements with modern sophistication. Interiors feature custom mosaic floors, De Stijl-inspired patterns, intricate millwork, and hand-painted de Gournay wallpaper referencing DC’s cherry blossoms. The completely renovated signature spaces include the cozy Library with vintage mantels and bold striped wallcovering and the softly lit Founders Dining Room with city views and geometric stained glass. In the Gallery Restaurant, original arches became the nexus for the design, extending into the wraparound Conservatory. The rooftop restaurant, Kaia, crowns the experience with a custom abstract mural and richly layered textiles. Originally a white-box office space, the renovation was achieved through meticulous craftsmanship involving millworkers, artists, and glassblowers. The design draws from the buildings’ façades and DC landmarks, creating an immersive environment that honors the past while embracing contemporary luxury.
