Kenneth Tracy

Associate Professor of Architecture at American University of Sharjah / Co-Founder at Yogiaman Tracy Design (yo_cy)

Kenneth Tracy is a founding director of Yogiaman Tracy Design (yo_cy), an award-winning practice with projects in the United States, Indonesia, and the UAE. His research-oriented practice overlaps with his teaching at the American University of Sharjah, where he is an Associate Professor of Architecture specializing in design/build, computational workflows, and digital fabrication. He holds a Master of Architecture from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Design from the University of Florida, and has previously taught at Columbia, Pratt Institute, NJIT, Washington University in St. Louis, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. Tracy has published over twenty articles on computational design, lightweight structures, and materials science engineering. His design experiments have been exhibited at design conferences and art venues, including Electric is the Love at Laumeier Sculpture Park (2011–12) and Material Acts: Experimentation in Architecture and Design at Craft Contemporary (2024–25). His research and teaching have been recognized with the 2012 TEX-FAB APPLIED Award, the 2013 AIA Middle East Merit Award, the 2014–15 ACSA Design-Build Award, the 2018 IASS Pavilion Award, and the 2020 CAADRIA Best Paper Award.
